This is by far my most memorable experience. It was a absolutely beautiful day here at Point Loma which for those unfamiliar with California, is on the opposite side of the San Diego Bay in the Pacific Ocean. Yes, Pacific which is where I came to settle into the New World. I followed an accomplished explorer named Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1542. Let's brush up on our history, shall we. Juan led the first European expedition to what is now the West Coast of the USA. I followed in his footsteps and was really excited to learn that I was going to visit him again. My heart was racing so Shelley had to calm me down as we approached his location. I couldn't wait to catch up on old times, hash out our plans to re conquer the west coast, and introduce him to rums he may not have had before. Alas, I can see his chambers....

What????? As we approached, my heart started to slow. Doug mentioned to me that he has been gone but I didn't know he meant forever. It was his resting place and to honor him the USA had created a monument in his honor of his importance. So, eventhough I was a little upset I felt uplifted knowing he was not forgotten. Cheers to you my friend, Juan. May this rum fill you with joy and eternal happiness!
While we were lolly gagging around the monumental area, we came upon a lighthouse which were the living quarters for the keeper guiding in vessels since 1855. In 1891, the light was extinguished and the keeper moved to another location closer to the water. The location of this house thought to be optimum, but the fog and dense clouds dulled the light which exposed it's flaw. Therefore a move was inevitable. So I hope you enjoyed a tidbit of travel through time. It is always a blur to me. I wonder why. "Hiccup!" Pardon me....
